About Tim Grabe
Trial Attorney and Pro Tem Judge Collaborating with Gretchen Mandekor
Tim Grabe, an accomplished trial attorney and pro tem judge, frequently collaborates with Gretchen Mandekor at Mandekor Law Firm as a trusted jury trial co-counsel.
For nearly 20 years, Gretchen defended personal injury cases before becoming a plaintiff’s attorney. During that time, she went head-to-head with Tim, who was the plaintiff’s attorney on some of her cases.
When Gretchen transitioned to the plaintiff’s side, Tim approached her to collaborate on catastrophic injury cases. Together, they discovered that Tim's innovative thinking complements Gretchen's deep understanding of defense strategies, resulting in an impressive track record of successful cases.
About Tim Grabe
After graduating from the University of Oregon in 1977, Tim spent several years working in logging, driving a farm combine, and heavy lifting in a freeze-dried food factory. In these blue-collar jobs, he witnessed firsthand the injustices faced by injured workers. These experiences inspired him to pursue a legal career dedicated to helping those who have been wronged.
Tim attended law school at Lewis & Clark College, contributing to the Law Review and graduating in 1982. He began his career in criminal defense before moving on to represent large insurance companies. But ultimately, his desire to advocate for injured individuals led him to focus on representing personal injury victims.
Throughout his career, Tim has dedicated himself to improving the legal profession. He has served on many state bar committees including the Uniform Civil Jury Instructions Committee, the Court Procedure and Practice Committee, and the Oregon State Bar Client Security Fund.
Appointed by the Oregon Supreme Court, Tim serves as a pro tem judge in the Multnomah County Circuit Court, where he holds court hearings and rules on summary judgment motions. Tim also contributes to the legal profession as an author. He wrote the chapter on voir dire (jury selection) for an Oregon State Bar book, and recently helped write sections of a new publication called Courtroom Companion: Evidence.
Additionally, Tim has been an active member of the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association since 1995, contributing to its Publications Committee.
Tim's collaboration with Gretchen and Mandekor Law Firm’s paralegal, Angel Krois, brings together decades of experience and a shared commitment to justice.
In his free time, you’ll often find Tim taking walks with Gretchen and Angel around the office or playing tennis – his “just for fun” court.
